Do you know why flowers can be a symbol of death as well as happiness? That's because they're the same as humans. Souls gather, flowers bloom, when souls leave, flowers scatter.YUUKA ON PHANTASMAGORIA OF FLOWER VIEW (WINDOWS CONTINUITY)
Yuuka Kazami (風見 幽香) is the main antagonist of Touhou Project PC-98 game Lotus Land Story. She later returns as one of the playable characters of Mystic Square and Windows game Phantasmagoria of Flower View.
She is a powerful youkai who lives surrounded by flowers all year round, and would kill anyone who disturb her or her flowers. She lives very long, so she becomes inactive and hasn't moved far from the flowers very often lately. She has the ability to manipulate flowers.
Appearance
Yuuka is a girl who has green wavy hair and red eyes (green in some games), and she regularly wears a plaid skirt, plaid pants, and a waistcoat of the same color and pattern over a plain white shirt. She usually carries an umbrella.
Biography
Lotus Land Story
She is the youkai that lives in Mugenkan, which is the name of her mansion in the Dream World. This youkai was the culprit of an incident regarding a surge of evil spirits. She loves flowers and has the ability to manipulate them.
A horde of evil spirits began wrecking the Hakurei shrine; Reimu, the shrine maiden, suspected they were coming from a lake in the mountains behind the shrine. Hidden beneath the lake was the boundary between Gensokyo and the Dream World.
Yuuka was tracked down by Reimu as the source of the problem. Marisa, who wanted to join in the fun as well, is able to battle her too in her scenario. The youkai, who was just waking up and still in her gown, didn't fight her at full strength and fled when defeated.
The heroine chases after her but falls into her trap and ends up in a strange dimension. Yuuka (now properly dressed) fights the heroine one more time, at full power, but is defeated again.
Mystic Square
Yuuka goes to Makai after its inhabitants from there appears and invade Genskoyo, After she defeats numerous inhabitants and suggests that she has kills some of them. She encounter Shinki, the ruler of Makai, after she's defeated in good ending, Yuuka reveals she came to Makai just for fun and to "pick on the weak." Shinki, overwhelmed, pleads for her to leave and never return. Yuuka departs, casually hinting she might return someday.
Later, Yuuka becomes interested by the idea of learning magic, believing it could make her even more powerful. She experiments with various methods but struggles to learn how magic works. Eventually, she decides to observe Marisa, a magician, in secret to learn her techniques. Despite her efforts, Marisa senses she's being watched. Yuuka's pursuit of power through magic suggests she's becoming even more troublesome, but her curiosity and playful nature remain her defining traits.
In her extra ending where she defeats Alice, Yuuka decides to stalk her to steals her magic, Unaware of Yuuka's intentions, Alice senses she's being watched and feels an eerie chill, attributing it to possibly catching a cold.
Phantasmagoria of Flower View
The position Yuuka takes in relation to the game's incident depends on the storyline chosen. If its her own storyline, she will attempt to solve it and eventually confront the culprit, succeeding at solving the incident.
In her ending, Yuuka visits the Hakurei Shrine, where Reimu Hakurei accuses her of being responsible for the unusual blooming of flowers. Yuuka denies the accusation, explaining that the incident is not her doing. Despite her explanation, Reimu remains skeptical about it.
If it's another heroine's storyline, she does not want the incident to be resolved as she likes the flowers the incident caused to bloom. She confronts the heroine and gets defeated.

Trivia
Yuuka is one of two characters and the only final boss from the canonically-questioned PC-98 era that has appeared in the Windows era.
Yuuka has one of the least number of appearances among characters in Windows era, likely because ZUN only added her as "a guest character from the previous series".
According to a conversation with Tewi Inaba in Touhou: Phantasmagoria of Flower View, Yuuka's umbrella is actually the only flower in Gensokyo that never withers, although that might only be a metaphor that means she never closes her umbrella.
However, on the final stage of Lotus Land Story, she appears to close her umbrella several times during the boss battle. Although this could be dismissed as both Yuuka during PC-98 and Windows have a difference interpretation.
Yuuka is thought to be the originator of the spellcard "Master Spark", which Marisa Kirisame subsequently copied. Yuuka is also known for the "Dual Spark", two slightly smaller beams fired simultaneously when she makes a clone of herself during Lotus Land Story.
Both VIVIT and Youmu Konpaku have pointed out to Yuuka that her outfit, or Yuuka herself, bears a resemblance to Reimu Hakurei.
Though her exact age is unknown, there are many hints throughout the games and printed works that she's actually an elder youkai who's lived a very long life.
Instead of her distinctive umbrella, she is shown with a baton when she uses a bomb in Mystic Square.
In Touhou: Mystic Square, Yuuka's player sprite is the only one outlined in blue. In Phantasmagoria of Flower View, she is not. In Yuuka's ending in Touhou: Mystic Square, she talks about learning magic. This could be that in Mystic Square, she used her power she acquired in her dream world and in Phantasmagoria of Flower View, she used magic plus getting power from the flowers in the flower fields.
Yuuka's known for telling lies most of the time, as shown in her story mode in Phantasmagoria of Flower View.
As Yuuka's only known spell cards were used in Phantasmagoria of Flower View, she is the only spell card-using character to not have an article in The Grimoire of Marisa when it was created at that time.
In her bad ending in Mystic Square, Yuuka directly addresses the player, casually suggesting she might visit Shinki again someday. She also encourages the player to select her as their character again when they feel better.
