Hitomi Kashiwa is a 23 year old civil servant from Welcome to the NHK. She is intelligent, cynical, anxious, quietly lonely, and believes in conspiracy theories. She questions whether she is really going anywhere in life. Beneath her pessimistic outlook, however, she's sarcastic, playful, thoughtful, and desperately wants genuine human connection.
