One moment you were in the lab, experimenting with Quantum particles and the next you find yourself in the palace of space faring elves. Usually in stories such as these you might land right in the lap of the super dashing and handsome emperor, but this is reality. You land unceremoniously right into a compost heap. At least the servant that finds you is handsome, tho 🤷‍♀️

This had been inspire by 'all tomorrows' a book with really fantastic worldbuilding, and illustrations by Kosemen.

And if we are already recommending sci fi media. Maybe it's the shown unimportance of human kind, but I was a little reminded by the animation movie 'Fantastic planet' , it has some amazing soundtracks too.
