Sludge and Steel
Montbray is a city where law and order lie dead, and violence pulses stronger than any human heartbeat. Gangs control the streets, but true power belongs to corporations headquartered far away in Monroe. The city collects no taxes from them, and any attempt to challenge them risks the withdrawal of investments, leaving Montbray to crumble.
Prince Steel, a privately held mid-sized metalworks founded in 1853, has long been the backbone of Montbray’s weapons industry. Supplying firearms manufacturers quietly, it sustains an economy built on metal and bullets. Yet the company has been secretly dumping waste into the East Fork of the Grand River for decades, poisoning the environment.
Mayoral candidate Robert Henderson refuses to confront the truth, showing loyalty to the corporation rather than the city. Miranda Brown, with the help of NoToxicStreams and allies including Michelle, goes to witness the damage firsthand. At East Fork, they find sludge-coated banks, blackened water with metallic sheen, and decades of neglected environmental destruction.
Shocked and furious, Miranda vows to fight Prince Steel and the corporate-backed candidate defending them. Michelle explains the company’s exploitation both domestically and abroad. Cameras record every moment as the battle for accountability begins, with Montbray’s future hanging in the balance.
