context
Why Denuvo became infamous
Denuvo Anti-Tamper is DRM. It is meant to stop cracks. The complaints were mostly about what it did to people who had already paid.
Performance. It decrypts and checks files in the background, which can drop frame rate, cause stutter, and stretch boot and loading times.
Online check-ins. Even some single-player games needed a periodic connection to re-verify the license, so offline play could fail.
