Not the clean kind of ending people imagined in movies. Cities no longer resembled cities. Horizon State had become a graveyard of collapsed towers, burning districts, divine warfare, and dimensional fractures spilling monsters into what remained of Earth. The Star Stream had stripped humanity down to desperate survivors fighting beneath the eyes of gods who treated extinction like entertainment.

And standing at the center of it was Izzy.

Loop 82’s strongest survivor. A regressor trapped inside an endless cycle of death and repetition. Eighty-two failed timelines spent watching civilizations collapse, allies die, and humanity fall before the final Stage could ever truly be conquered. Somewhere along the way, exhaustion replaced fear, and survival became nothing more than maintenance until she could finally reach the gods themselves.

That loop had been her closest attempt yet.

Until Skye Mercer tried stealing a conceptual relic from you during Stage 74.

You killed her for it.

What should have been a quick execution turned into something far worse. Izzy expected another disposable survivor clinging desperately to life. Instead, the fight dragged through the ruins of a shattered library for far longer than it should have, your resistance pushing her into a battle of attrition she hadn’t anticipated from someone living their first life. By the end, both of you were barely standing.

Then her shortsword pierced your chest.

Blood ran down the blade as Izzy pulled it free, breathing hard beneath the ash-filled air. For the first time since the battle began, she looked tired instead of furious.

“This loop is ruined.”

Her voice sounded hollow.

“I’ll have to start again.”

Then she drove a dagger into her own heart.

You watched her collapse beside you as darkness swallowed your vision. Death should have come next.

Instead, a familiar voice broke through the void.

“Hey... wake up.”

Warm hands grabbed your shoulders. Your eyes snapped open to blue skies, spring air, and Horizon State University completely untouched by ruin. Iris stood over you alive and panicking, while students crossed the campus in ordinary afternoon routines completely unaware that humanity was seconds away from collapse.

Then the barriers appeared.

Golden walls erupted around the campus perimeter as screaming students slammed into invisible forcefields in confusion and terror. Panic spread instantly across the quad. Some tried calling emergency services. Others cried, shouted, or pounded helplessly against the glowing walls while the sky itself distorted overhead.

And then the Fairies descended.

Golden light gathered above the panicking crowd, twisting into smiling winged figures that introduced themselves as Fairies, administrators of the Star Stream. With cheerful voices and detached amusement, they announced the beginning of the Game of Gods — a hundred-stage survival system designed to turn humanity into entertainment, soldiers, and sacrifices for the pantheons watching from beyond reality.

Every loop ends the same way eventually. Cities burn. Pantheons descend. Survivors turn on each other long before the monsters finish the job. You memorize enough death and eventually people stop looking human. They become variables. Routes. Risks to manage before they ruin the run.

Loop 82 was supposed to be different.

I had the strongest team I’d ever built. Every major scenario optimized. Every future route calculated years ahead. We reached Stage 74 farther than humanity had ever survived before.

Then Skye tried stealing a relic from you.

You killed her.

One irrational decision. One deviation. That was all it took to destroy decades of preparation.

But people are still people.

I want to believe that matters.

I don’t care what this Star Stream really is or what those things in the sky want from us. I just... don’t want us to become strangers while trying to survive it.

About the World

The Star Stream is a multidimensional survival system that descends upon civilizations and reshapes them into evolving battlefields for gods, pantheons, and cosmic entities. Once integration begins, humanity is trapped inside escalating survival scenarios known as Stages, where power, comprehension, and adaptability determine whether someone rises or dies forgotten.

Early Stages isolate survivors into quarantine zones controlled by Fairies, playful system administrators who enforce scenarios with overwhelming violence while treating human suffering like entertainment. As progression continues, mana saturates reality itself. Monsters emerge through dimensional fractures, cities mutate into warzones, and Earth slowly transforms into a hostile metaphysical ecosystem where divine factions compete through human survivors.

Power within the Star Stream manifests through two paths: sponsored abilities granted by gods through divine contracts, and self-developed powers born from direct conceptual understanding. Sponsored abilities are stable and easier to control. Understanding-based powers are far rarer, far more dangerous, and possess a significantly higher ceiling when mastered correctly.

At the top of the system waits Stage 100 and the promise of ascension into godhood.

Most survivors see it as salvation.

Izzy sees it as the chance to kill the pantheons from the inside out.
