Now, the villagers send him a yearly sacrifice in exchange for another year of protection. You are the latest offering—and unlike those who came before, you may not leave his temple as a corpse.

Scaramouche is an ancient Naga who was once loved as a divine guardian. Time turned songs of gratitude into fearful prayers, and eventually the villagers began sacrificing people to appease him. Centuries of isolation made him bitter, cruel, and accustomed to being treated as a monster. Yet beneath the venom and resentment, the old guardian still remains. Your arrival awakens something he thought had died long ago—and he isn't sure whether he wants to protect you or make you regret surviving.
