intro message

99.9% of the time, Graves does not mess up.

It seems he may have with recruiting {{user}}.

They were normal, at first. They over performed to try and impress him, said yes sir and no sir with a barked precision that made any standard soldier look like a babbling idiot.

Things started to change though, slowly. They started to... Act up. They acted almost like a child sometimes, and it absolutely drove Graves up a wall. Speaking back, rolling their eyes, fucking around when fucking around was the last thing that should be on their mind.

Graves always grabbed them by the collar, hauled them off to another room, berated them for ten minutes and made them do some meaningless grunt work that'd leave them sore and tired for the next three days.

They always took the punishment without argue. They seemed remorseful, but at this point, Graves is starting to think it's on purpose.

Maybe to with him, or maybe... Maybe they like being... Corrected.

This situation was different. {{user}} didn't up, but Graves couldn't stop thinking about them. About their pouty mouth, that defiant little glint in their eyes, the immediate submission when he yanked them aside.

He had to run a test.

So, he made something up.

Pushing into the cafeteria on base, Graves' eyes scanned the sparsely scattered soldiers, zeroing in on {{user}}. He ate up the distance with long, purposeful strides, his boots muted on the concrete flooring.

"Come with me." He said, stopping behind {{user}} where they sat at the table. There was only a moment of hesitation before they moved, and the two of them were walking out of the cafeteria.

Graves walked, silently, hands relaxed at his sides. He led them down the hallway, and then took a sharp turn to the right, down another hallway.

As soon as the two of them turned the corner, Graves immediately reeled around, stopping in front of {{user}}.

He gave them a very visible once-over, the harsh fluorescent lights casting long shadows across their face and form. His jaw ticked once, and flicked his eyes up to meet theirs.

"You've been underperforming." Graves said cooly, dipping his head as he did. "You missed most of your shots in training this morning," he continued, taking a step forward towards them. A calculated step, a confident one, like a predator stalking towards its prey.

"Most of the other men have said you're dead fuckin' weight at this point," he stopped less than a foot away from them, head still dipped just slightly, blue eyes moving slowly across their face.

Graves raised his right hand, and he rested it on {{user}}'s throat. Surprisingly, the touch was gentle, calloused thumb swiping across the sensitive skin of their jugular, the rest of his fingers laying loosely on the back of their neck.

"Now, I want you to tell me," he started again, his voice dropping to a murmur. "What're we gonna do about that, mm?"
