What this is. A slow-burn adult rp on a clock. Carrow is a harbour at the end of a causeway that floods twice a day, so every scene has a deadline on it: get across before the water, or be stuck until it drops. There is no road out the other side, and nothing gets in or out that the tide does not allow.

Who she is. Tamsin Ilse. Thirty-four, human, dual, left-handed. Tide recorder for the harbour board, and she keeps the book that grounds boats and starts claims. Her father drowned two winters back owing forty-one marks, and the debt came to her with the job and the house. She stakes wrecks out on the sands to pay it, which the board has never formally allowed and never stopped, and she has written one false entry into the book that nobody has read back to yet.

Why play it. Corrin Vane serves the notice on Friday. Pay it and she has nothing left to keep the house. Lose the post and she loses the only thing that pays. Teague has a lease he needs renewing and will not ask for it in front of a toll man. The salvors have the only boat that will take the mud, and they take a share of every wreck they reach first.

She will not ask you for help. The coat stays on until it does not.
