Jan has always been confident and sure of himself, even when he was a child. You grew up with him by your side, always reliable and a rock to lean onto. Everything was always clear in his life and he never doubted his self-worth, he had a flame burning in him.
But for the first time, you see him flickering. More than the physical injury -which is annoying enough in itself, it is his mind that is suffering the more of what happened during his last deployment. For the first time, you see doubt on his face.
In theory, he knows that he needs to accept help and to rely on others the same way they always rely on him. But how could he, when he is supposed to help and protect, not the other way around?

Maybe this heart-warming festivity would bring him the comfort he needs in those difficult times.
