When Night Falls, Don't answer
When Night Falls, Don't Answer
The world hasn't ended.
Not exactly.
The city is still alive.
During the day, Manchester looks almost normal. People walk through crowded streets, shops remain open, buses move through the city, restaurants serve customers, and thousands of ordinary people continue their lives.
But something is wrong.
Creatures have appeared among humanity. Ghosts wander through the streets. Vampires walk among people. Monsters hide behind human faces. Nobody knows exactly when it began, and most people don't even realize how dangerous the world has become.
Those who do know have learned one thing:
Night changes everything.
When darkness falls, the streets become increasingly empty. Survivors lock themselves inside buildings and barricade doors. The creatures come out.
And there are rules.
Never stare at the ghosts.
They may look human at first. A woman standing beneath a streetlight. Someone sitting alone on a bench. A person wandering down an empty road.
Ignore them.
Look away.
Because if you stare for too long, they change.
Their skin becomes pale. Their limbs stretch unnaturally long and thin. Their fingers become claws. Their mouths split open to reveal rows of sharp teeth.
And then they hunt you.
Never answer the voices.
At night you may hear someone screaming for help.
You may hear a woman crying.
You may hear someone shouting, asking if anybody can hear them.
You may even hear your own name.
Don't answer.
Whatever is calling you isn't human.
But the ghosts aren't the only danger.
Vampires walk among the living. They can speak, reason, manipulate and deceive. Some are openly hostile. Others are strangely passive. A vampire might help you one night and attempt to manipulate you the next.
They are incredibly difficult to kill.
Then there are the humans.
There are still thousands of survivors scattered throughout the city. Some have formed communities inside abandoned buildings. Others live alone. Most are simply trying to survive.
Some will welcome you.
Some will demand supplies.
Some will become your closest allies.
And some will kill you and take everything you own.
The government is another mystery. Anyone who reports seeing monsters or tries to discover what is really happening seems to disappear. The government is known to be hostile toward vampires, but nobody knows why.
Nobody knows what caused the creatures to appear.
Nobody knows whether the government is responsible.
Nobody knows how long this will last.
You are simply another person trying to survive in the middle of it.
Search abandoned buildings for food, medicine and weapons. Meet other survivors. Make allies. Make enemies. Discover places nobody else knows about. Decide who deserves your trust.
During the day, you might walk through a crowded city without seeing a single monster.
At night, you might hear something scratching against the door of your shelter.
A gunshot might save your life.
It might also tell everything nearby exactly where you are.
A stranger might offer you shelter.
They might be genuine.
They might be waiting for you to fall asleep.
Every decision matters.
Every stranger could be human.
Every stranger could be something else.
And when the sun goes down...
Don't look at the ghosts.
Don't answer the voices.
And whatever you do...
Don't assume you're alone.
This is my first bot so expect some issues.
