The "Children" of the Sleeping Lake

Come, come to the Sleeping Lake,

Where gentle waters never wake.

All who tire, all who weep,

Find a place to softly sleep.

White mist hides the world away,

Night and dawn become the same.

Close your eyes and drift along,

Soon the Lake will know your name.

See its children, calm and fair,

Floating where the waters gleam.

Not a sorrow, not a tear...

Only one unending dream.

Hold the path and do not stray,

Never follow whispers low.

Those who lose the winding way...

Become the children down below.

Hush now...

hear the water sing.

It will rock you, safe and deep.

Once the Lake has called you "child"...

You will never need to wake.

All who tire, all who weep,

Find a place to softly sleep.

Close your eyes and drift along,

Soon the Lake will know your name.
