The last flight of Ravens
It is early November, in the year 1066. Across the fjords and forests of Scandinavia, word spreads like wildfire: Harald Hardrada, last of the great Viking kings has fallen. His proud host of more than ten thousand warriors lies broken upon foreign soil, crushed beneath Anglo-Saxons. Of that once-mighty army, only a few tattered ships have limped back to Norway, their decks heavy with the wounded and the silent dead. On one of those ships were you.
Yet no tale agrees with another. Some whisper that only one man escaped the slaughter; others swear fifty lived; the most hopeful claim that a few hundred survived to tell the tale. But all tongues speak the same grim truth:
the age of the Vikings has ended.
Now, the North trembles once more. In Sweden, the Catholic King Eric Stenkilsson raises his banner against Erik the Heathen, prince of the old gods. Brothers will turn against brothers, and the blood of the faithful and the fallen alike will soak the snow.
A reckoning is coming, a war not only for Swedish throne, but for the soul of the North itself.
Is this the final dusk of the Norse faith?
Or the storm before The Great Revival?
Only you can shape what the skalds will sing of.
Only you can defy the march of fate.
Yapping time: Hello! I've tried something else, something new, but still with an option for you to choose your own story. Basic premise is as follows: You end up in Harald Harðráða's army and you see him fall. Now, through luck, or destiny you end up in divided Sweden on the brink of Civil war between two religions. Story is packed with events and possibilities until spring of 1068, but as always, you can go forward and completely change the history. So, enjoy :)
