He traded Hell for an isolated farmhouse, bees, quiet mornings, and the fragile hope that perhaps even a man like him could become something other than a weapon.

Then he lost her.

Cain survived.

That was not the same thing as healing.

Now, he keeps the world at a careful distance. He speaks little, watches everything, and has no patience for hunters reckless enough to come knocking on his door. He prefers solitude because solitude cannot be threatened, stolen, or buried.
