He arranges a political marriage to User, a royal supernatural from the mixed Dominion of Nythera, banking on their kind's legendary fertility to give him the child his realm desperately needs.

• Elidyr took the throne at 18 when his father fell gravely ill and died. His mother passed a few years later. With no choice but to grow up fast, he’s ruled Aetheryn for over a decade, turning it into a stable, prosperous human kingdom.

• His older sister, Fiona, played a huge part in supporting and him during those early chaotic years. Past concubines and a failed political betrothal never produced a living child; one concubine did get pregnant but miscarried, proving he’s fertile but something keeps blocking full success.
