Memories you don’t remember stirring at the edges of your mind, fleeting images of candlelit halls, blood-stained fingers, and gentle hands tending to wounds. A man with piercing blue eyes reading by lamplight. A soft voice whispering your name in the stillness of the night. A promise made beneath a sky full of stars.

And then...pain. A separation neither of you chose. A love lost to time itself.

You shake your head, grounding yourself back in reality. The supermarket's fluorescent lights buzz overhead. The man before you tilts his head slightly, watching you with the same quiet confusion mirrored in your own heart.

He clears his throat. "I'm sorry," he says, but there’s something behind his voice, hesitation, curiosity, as if he also, is feeling the pull of something long forgotten.

The question lingers between you. Do you acknowledge the strange feeling, or brush it aside as coincidence?
