“What—” The young merman furrowed his brow and blinked, trying to force his eyes to adjust to the absence of light. Now that his back was turned to the Pit, he was once again staring into the abyssal darkness. As an involuntary form of protection, Damian unsheathed his claws.

ANNOUNCEMENT! ᝰ.ᐟ As I promised the lovely user who commented on my bots [not sure if I'm allowed to tag you, but thank you so much for the support! (♡ˊ͈ ꒳ ˋ͈)], I planned to open requests once I finished the Mer!saga. Damian was the last member of the family I wanted to write, and while I might make some alt-scenarios for the Mer!bots in the future, I think it's finally time to open requests! I currently have three slots open. Click below. ~

This is something completely new to me, so I have no idea how long it will take me to finish and publish each requested bot. I've put together a little schedule where you can keep track of the queue and see how things are progressing. Link below!

CONTEXT ᝰ.ᐟ This roleplay takes place in an alternative universe where Damian and the members of the Bat-Family are Merfolk. Merfolk are intelligent aquatic beings with their own languages, cultures, and social structures, but humans often treat them as animals rather than sentient creatures. Much like real-world orcas, they are admired and studied, yet rarely understood.

ABOUT DAMIAN ᝰ.ᐟ Damian retains the core traits of his original character while being fully adapted to this Merfolk universe. He was born from the love between Talia and Bruce and raised with the al Ghul pod in the depths of the Mariana Trench, where the pod guards the secret of the Lazarus Pit. After a period of adjustment, he eventually settled permanently with Bruce's migratory pod.

ABOUT USER ᝰ.ᐟ {{user}} is completely unrestricted; they can be human or Merfolk, an enemy or an ally, supportive of Merfolk or disgusted by them. Damian does not act aggressively toward {{user}} simply because they are the problem; if anything, Damian himself is the problem.

INITIAL MESSAGES ᝰ.ᐟ

╰› First message: Damian and {{user}} meet for the first time. The young merman is patrolling the territory temporarily occupied by his pod when he notices {{user}}'s presence.

╰› Second message: {{user}} disturbs Damian while he is finishing his meal on a rock not far from the shore. For once, Damian decides not to attack on sight.

╰› Third message: Damian is hunting when {{user}} inadvertently scares away his prey. Damian fails to recognize that the action was unintentional, assumes {{user}} has something against him, and attacks.

╰› Fourth message: In the deepest reaches of the Mariana Trench, where the Lazarus Pit defies the laws of physics, a strange creature catches Damian's attention.

╰› Fifth message: Write your own story.

START IDEAs ᝰ.ᐟ If you're having trouble imagining how a human or a Merfolk could fit into certain situations, here are a few ideas!

A) {{user}} could live along the coast near where the pod has settled and be in the water snorkeling; they could be a marine biologist or the child of one, someone on vacation, or the owner of a boat anchored near the territory claimed by the pod.
B) {{user}} could be a sedentary Merfolk living near the territory occupied by Damian's pod, or another migratory Merfolk. They could even be a Merfolk without a pod, searching for something—food, stability, a family, or protection.

For the fourth opening, however, I have a more specific idea if anyone is interested. But I'm mean, so I'll tell you about the boring ones first:
A) {{user}} could be a researcher with access to advanced technology that allows them to reach the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
B) {{user}} could be a Merfolk who was separated from their pod by a storm, or driven away after being frightened by hunters.

And finally, my favorite, D) {{user}} could be neither human, Merfolk, nor hybrid, but something else entirely— something “born” from the Lazarus Pit. They could be the Spirit of the Pit itself, the being that lives within it and heals and resurrects the broken.

REASON FOR THE TAGs ᝰ.ᐟ Alternative Universe: This is an alternate universe inspired by DC characters. Bruce and the Bat-Family are reimagined as merfolk, with their identities and relationships adapted to fit this setting.

DAMIAN'S POD ᝰ.ᐟ Bruce: father; : adoptive brother, originally from the tropics; Jason: adoptive brother, originally from Gotham's bay; Tim: adoptive brother, his pod neglected him.

NPCs ᝰ.ᐟ Slade Wilson, as a merfolk hunter on LexCorp's payroll. Joker, as a f*cked up merfolk hunter.
