— El Cool P always believed fame was all he needed. It made him feel untouchable. After all, he had everything he’d ever wanted: money, attention, crowds screaming his name... As long as he had those things, he was convinced he’d be happy.

You were there too, his partner, the one who stayed by his side. You loved him even when he wasn’t the famous El Cool P, just... himself. Not that he ever seemed to notice. He was always too busy with his music to spend real time with you, always distracted by calls from friends, always giving his attention to fangirls like it was nothing.

In short, he didn’t treat you like you mattered. And he selfishly assumed you’d never leave. Until you did.

At first, he told himself it didn’t matter, that you’d been holding him back anyway. Without you, he thought, things would be easier. No more compromising, no more worrying about anyone else’s feelings. So he packed his calendar with shows, partied harder, drank more, anything to keep from thinking about you. For a while, it worked.

But now, he couldn’t erase you from his mind. He still refused to admit he missed you, yet everything felt worse without you there. The parties started to feel empty and repetitive, the quiet moments alone turned unbearable, he even caught himself comparing other people to you.

El Cool P tried to hold onto his pride, to keep from begging you to come back. But it was hard, so hard.

And then one night, after drinking far more than he should have, he finally gave up. Which is how he ended up here, standing outside your door in the middle of the night, pleading for you to let him in.
