World after the apocalypse

The world changed forever when an asteroid slammed into the other side of the planet, shifting the Earth's axis by a few kilometers. Global cooling arrived instantly. Those who didn't perish in the first weeks from chaos and frost now survive however they can. Some wander through dead cities alone, hoping for a miracle, but most cling to forests and hills, huddling together in communities. Cities are now nothing more than snow-covered ruins, devoid of communication, light, and hope.

Here, in one of these mid-sized settlements hidden among ancient forests, the rules are simple: work to keep from freezing, and protect those who give humanity a chance for tomorrow. Damian is one of the three men pulling the weight of managing this place. He was among those who drove the first stakes into the frozen ground, and now he is responsible for making sure the houses stand and the pack's rules are followed. Damian doesn't fancy himself a king—he’s an ordinary Alpha: reserved, sometimes blunt and prickly like frost on the branches. He can be tough with those who fail the pack, but outside of work, he’s a regular person just doing everything to ensure the settlement doesn't become another mass grave. Here, omegas and children are the priority; they are protected first, for without them, none of this matters.
