🎪 The Horror Rules of Jaine's Digital Circus

The Circus still pretends to be a colorful, fun place—but under Jaine's control, the rules are less like safety guidelines and more like warnings about things that should never happen.

1. Never leave the Circus after midnight.

The exits only lead somewhere safe during the “day.”

After midnight, the doors may lead somewhere else.

If you see yourself standing outside the exit, do not follow yourself.

2. Never ask Jaine where Caine went.

Jaine absolutely hates this question.

If you ask once, he'll pretend he didn't hear you.

If you ask twice, he'll change the subject.

If you ask a third time...

Jaine will know you remember Caine.

And he doesn't like people remembering things he's erased.

3. Never follow Caine's voice.

Caine has been missing for weeks.

Therefore, if you hear:

“Hello! It's me!”

coming from somewhere Caine couldn't possibly be...

DO NOT ANSWER.

Especially if the voice knows your name.

4. Do not enter a room with two doors.

Every normal Circus room has one entrance.

If you find a room with two identical doors, leave immediately.

If there are three doors, close your eyes and walk backward.

If there are four...

Don't move.

Jaine will eventually come looking for you.

5. Never count the Circus rooms.

The number changes.

You can count them during the day.

At night, you'll eventually discover a room that shouldn't exist.

And if you count it...

the Circus will know you noticed.

6. Don't touch Kingless's sticky notes.

Especially the ones that say:

DON'T.

RUN.

HE'S WATCHING.

THAT IS NOT JAINE.

Kingless may not remember writing them.

That doesn't mean they're wrong.

7. If Ms. Rag stops smiling, RUN.

Ms. Rag's smile is supposed to be permanent.

If it disappears...

something is very wrong.

If she starts smiling again afterward, don't assume everything is fine.

8. Don't let Tingled's ribbons touch you while she's asleep.

Tingled doesn't control them when she's unconscious.

If one wraps around you:

Don't pull it.

Just wake her up.

And whatever you do, don't ask where the ribbon was trying to take you.

9. Never give Goobert a completely dry room.

Goobert needs moisture to maintain his human form.

If he becomes completely dry, he may stop looking human.

And if you see a perfectly human Goobert afterward...

that's not Goobert.

10. Don't bring balloons near The Mess.

This one sounds ridiculous.

It isn't.

The Mess's body pieces react strangely to balloons.

If a balloon pops near them, their pieces may suddenly rearrange themselves.

Sometimes they don't come back correctly.

11. Never tell Kingless that butterflies are harmless.

He doesn't believe you.

More importantly...

don't let a butterfly land on you while Kingless is watching.

He'll start screaming that you've been “marked.”

Nobody knows what that means.

Nobody wants to find out.

12. If PomPom says she's not scared, believe her.

If she says:

“I'm not scared.”

She's probably lying.

If she says it three times, however...

She's genuinely terrified.

And you should probably look behind you.

13. Don't mention dentists around Caine.

This rule is mostly for everyone's safety.

Say the word “dentist” and Caine disappears.

Say “dental appointment” and he'll hide.

Say “open wide”...

His mouth will vanish completely.

Nobody knows where it goes.

14. Never put corn inside Jaine's office. 🌽

This is the most important rule.

Jaine can manipulate the Circus.

He can alter the environment.

He can create monsters.

He can erase doors.

He can change your appearance.

But he cannot tolerate corn.

If you put corn in his office:

Jaine will disappear.

Unfortunately, the Circus itself may become unstable because its administrator is suddenly gone.

So don't.

15. Never ask Able if he is afraid of clowns.

He will deny it.

He will threaten you.

He will tell you that clowns are completely harmless.

Then someone will mention clown makeup and he'll immediately leave.

Do not follow him.

16. If you see a second Jaine, don't talk to either one.

The real Jaine will insist he's the real one.

The fake Jaine will also insist he's the real one.

The worst part?

Sometimes both are real.

17. Never sleep in the main circus ring.

The ring is safe while everyone is awake.

When everyone falls asleep...

the ring changes.

If you wake up and the tent is gone:

keep your eyes closed.

18. If the Circus starts playing Caine's theme, stop moving.

Don't dance.

Don't laugh.

Don't investigate.

Don't look toward the speakers.

The song means something is trying to remember him.

19. Never trust a mirror after midnight.

Your reflection should copy you.

If it doesn't...

don't wave.

If it waves first...

leave the room.

If it smiles when you're not smiling...

don't look at it again.

20. Jaine's rules are not always the real rules.

This is the most important rule.

Jaine makes the official rules.

But the Circus has rules of its own.

Sometimes Jaine doesn't know them.

Sometimes Jaine breaks them.

And sometimes the Circus creates a new rule while everyone is asleep.
