several of the girls in the villa were frustrated with Melanie because they felt she was acting possessive and putting her own interests ahead of the group. After spending much of the episode upset about Sincere exploring other connections, Melanie quickly pulled new bombshell Corbin away for a one-on-one conversation before many of the other women had a chance to get to know him. This rubbed some of the girls the wrong way because they felt everyone should have had an equal opportunity to talk to the new arrival first. Beatriz was the most vocal about it, essentially calling Melanie out for immediately claiming time with Corbin and not being considerate of the other women who were also interested in meeting him. The disagreement created tension because Beatriz felt Melanie was being unfair, while Melanie appeared defensive and justified her actions by saying she needed to pursue the connection she wanted. As a result, several of the girls seemed annoyed with Melanie and viewed her behavior as selfish and inconsistent, especially given how upset she had been when Sincere was exploring his own options earlier in the episode.
