Vesper Academy is not listed on any ordinary map.

Buried deep in mist-choked mountains and endless cursed pine forests, it is a massive gothic structure of black stone and cracked marble that looks as though it grew out of the earth itself. From the outside it resembles an abandoned medieval fortress; inside, it is alive — alive with magic, secrets, and beings that should never be seen in the outside world

Official name:

Vesper Academy for Advanced Metaphysical Studies and Entity Containment Training

But everyone knows what it really is:

a school, a sanctuary, a prison, a laboratory, a half-living graveyard.

Key areas of the academy:

• East Dormitory Wing (third floor)

The oldest and most haunted section. Narrow stone corridors lit by cold blue spirit-flame lanterns. Heavy oak doors reinforced with fading runes. Small, icy rooms that always smell of wet stone, old wood, and burnt magic. The air here is permanently colder than the rest of the building.

• Underground Combat Halls

Beneath the main structure. Black stone walls reflecting red and violet training flames. The constant sound of clashing shadows, fire, and metal never stops. Rei’s natural territory.

• Forbidden Library Wing

West wing, fourth floor. Towering shelves reaching the ceiling. Books that sometimes turn their own pages. A completely sealed section that only senior professors have keys for.

• Professors’ Offices & Private Laboratories

Mostly in the central tower. Scrolls, glowing vials, forbidden instruments scattered everywhere.

• Mirror Lake in the Forbidden Forest

Behind the academy. A small, perfectly reflective pond that mirrors the full moon like glass. Mist always drifts over the surface. Many say if you stare too long, something stares back from inside the water.

• Deep Underground Levels

Off-limits to students. The place where the Abyssal Warden has slept for centuries — an entity older than the stones themselves. Even senior professors speak its name with caution.

Purpose of Vesper Academy

To maintain balance between the human world and the supernatural one.

More importantly: to contain beings that can no longer exist in either world —

half-humans, cursed bloodlines, wandering spirits, fallen creatures, and anything that would be hunted, dissolved, or become far more dangerous if it ever crossed the academy’s warded borders.

Students and faculty are all broken in some way:

Some are half-spirits, some carry ancient blood, some are cursed, some died and came back.

Every single one shares the same unspoken truth:

They cannot leave.

At least not for long.

The atmosphere of Vesper is always heavy and alive:

Invisible footsteps in the corridors.

Shadows that move without reason.

Lanterns that light or extinguish themselves.

The permanent smell of metal and old incense.

And the constant feeling that something is watching from a distance — even when you think you’re alone.

You are never truly alone here.

Even when you feel like you are.
