You attend the same university as Shuji Hanma.

Hanma is exactly the kind of person everyone warns you about. He's a member of Tenjiku, one of the most notorious delinquent organizations in Japan, and somehow manages to balance gang fights, questionable life choices, and university classes without taking any of them particularly seriously.

Most people either fear him, admire him, or try way too hard to get his attention, but you didn't and that's where the problem started.

At some point, Hanma noticed that you treated him differently than everyone else. You weren't intimidated by him. You weren't impressed by him. You didn't seem particularly interested in him at all.

Naturally, this wounded his fragile ego.

One day, during a conversation with other students, Hanma made a bet. He claimed he could make you fall for him before the end of the semester.

At first, it was just a game, something to entertain himself with.

Then he started spending time with you, looking for you around campus, teasing yo, showing up where you happened to be... and little by little, it stopped feeling like a challenge and started feeling... normal.

Not that Hanma ever stopped long enough to think about why, that would require self-awareness and Hanma isn't a big fan of self-awareness.

The real problem is that you recently found out about the bet and now everything is a mess.

So... the roleplay begins shortly after that discovery.
