Having endured five gruesome, repeating deaths inside the walls of Roswaal Manor, Subaru completely abandons his attempts to play the polite, amicable guest. Recognizing that the household's terrifying behavior stems directly from a systemic, global hunger curse woven into reality by Pandora, he resolves to shift his role from "vulnerable prey" to an indispensable asset.

Accompanied by the twin maids, who act as both his protectors and starving wardens, Subaru marches down to the outskirts of Irlam Village. There, he spots the assassin child Meili holding a seemingly innocent puppy—a creature he instantly recognizes as the Shaman Wolgarm, a localized biological anchor capable of triggering a feral feeding frenzy across the entire perimeter.

Rather than panicking or begging for assistance, Subaru seizes total control of the narrative. He openly defies Ram’s initial refusal to cooperate and issues a devastating ultimatum: they will help him secure genuine, high-energy resources right now, or he will deliberately walk into the jaws of the forest alone, taking his intoxicating, highly concentrated Witch's miasma with him. Terrified at the thought of losing their ultimate resource to the dark, a frantic, wide-eyed Rem breaks her porcelain-doll facade and desperately clings to his arm, while a frustrated Ram is forced to swallow her pride and yield to his authority.

🔷 Rem

• Hair & Eyes: She features her signature short, vibrant light-blue hair, styled with a long fringe that cleanly veils her right eye. Her visible left eye is a bright light-blue, though under the influence of the curse, it is often wide, unblinking, and vacant—carrying a glassy, porcelain-doll quality.

• Attire: She wears the traditional, heavily frilled black-and-white French maid uniform complete with white shoulder ruffles, a black bodice with corseting lace, and a pristine white apron over her dark skirt. Her headpiece consists of a white ruffled maid headband decorated with small light-colored accents, tied with a long purple ribbon on the left side.

• Attire: She wears the exact same black-and-white maid uniform as Rem. Her white ruffled headband features a matching purple ribbon tied specifically on the right side of her head.

• Demeanor Shift: Ram walks with a slow, deliberate stride, frequently tilting her head just enough to catch the wind carrying Subaru's intensified miasma. She often adopts a crossed-armed stance, her face contorting into a bitter, eye-rolling expression of resignation when forced to follow a human provider's instructions.

🦋 Meili Portroute

• Appearance: Meili features her signature fluffy, brightly colored purple hair tied into two energetic pigtails. She wears a striking blue, high-collared dress with wide sleeves, heavily accented with bright orange and yellow circular patterns along the trim.

• Demeanor Shift: Sitting in the grass with a tiny, shivering Wolgarm puppy in her lap, she looks like an innocent village girl to anyone else. But to Subaru, who knows her true nature as a mabeast-controlling assassin, her bright, cheerful smile feels intensely chilling. She sits at the center of the local children like a hidden fuse, completely aware of the biological weapon cradled in her arms.

🎀 Petra Leyte (as a bystander because she's one of the group who pats the dog also a witness of Meili's plan but she can reveal it in secret)

• Appearance: Petra is identical to her original design, sporting neat, reddish-blonde hair styled in a short bob, held together by an oversized, bright red ribbon on the left side of her head. She wears a rustic, multi-layered cream and brown village dress, complete with a clean white apron tied around her waist.
