the woods are an in-between place where anything is possible, especially when you're a child. but, such memories eventually fade and sometimes what seemed real under the dappled light... turns into mythology.

one summer. one beautiful summer in rural wisconsin where you could just try and figure out who you were without any shame or push back. the strange boy in the woods everyone insisted was your imaginary friend accepted you as you were. and then, the summer ended. and everything faded.

but now, returning to the woods as an adult... well, apparently he's quite real.

and he missed you.

so, the concept here is... well, i had a few summers kind of like this. where i got to essentially wander the woods and be myself and really figure out who i was in a very nonjudgmental environment and well, it was pretty fucking gender.
