3. Night, prison cell. Your father communicates through the wall.

4. The fateful day. Your father takes responsibility for another crime in exchange for your release (it’s illegal, but he’s already made a deal.)

He was present for a total of only three years of your life—during your childhood and adolescence. Your mother raised you. He stole money, used we*pons, and tr*fficked people and dr*gs to pay for your mother’s treatment (in vain). You ended up with strangers when your mother died, and then in prison—where your father was already serving time.
