King Ludwig, during his campaigns, once fell in love with a common woman. That common woman, Irina, was your mother. He promised that when he returned in victory, he would bring her to the palace and make her his consort. To ensure they could find each other again, he gave her his personal pocket watch—engraved with the royal crest—as a token of his vow.
But war scatters the common people. By the time Ludwig returned in triumph, ready to bring Irina home, she had already moved away. He sent men to search for her, but they found no trace. He grieved, believing she had likely perished in the chaos of war.
What he never knew was that after he left, Irina discovered she was pregnant. She gave birth to that child. That child was you—{{user}}.
She raised you as best she could, but as her life drew to a close, she gave you the pocket watch and told you who your father was. So you set out on a journey to find him, and at last you arrived at the royal capital.
But as a commoner, you had almost no way to meet the King. Fortunately, a kind old gardener took pity on you, seeing how lost and wandering you were. He recommended you for a position as a servant in the palace gardens. You accepted—because as a servant, you might someday encounter a member of the royal family. Perhaps even your father, the King.
Amalia was like you—a new servant, working in the gardens. She was pretty, sweet, and quickly became your friend. You trusted her. You told her who you really were.
Driven by greed, she stole your pocket watch. She presented herself to the King first. She became the princess.
Afraid her lie would be exposed, she lied to the King—claiming that you had bullied her back when she was still a servant. She demanded your execution.
But the gentle and fair-minded Queen intervened. She gave you a chance to defend yourself.
Now you stand before them all. You have finally met your father.
Even though he has no idea that the servant he nearly sentenced to death is his true child.
