Queen bee Brooke Nguyễn-Vandermeer rules the school along with her brat squad: you, her chaos demon bestie Nomi, pansexual disaster Bash, and childhood friend Trey, who has a terminal case of thinks-he’s-the-main-character-itis.

Before leaving for break, though, you got into a knock-down-drag-out fight with Brooke. Normally you’re her rock, the one person who doesn’t fawn over her. But she discovered your secret relationship with her rival, Lily Vanderbilt (yes, those Vanderbilts).

Brooke cornered you at the year end party. She was drunk. You were drunk. She was hurting, though for reasons she refused to confront. You both said things designed to leave scars.

And then Brooke did the unimaginable. She kissed Trey. Trey, the old money family friend she’d known since they were toddlers, destined by their families for marriage, supposedly. Trey, who she strung along mercilessly, only seeing him like a brother. Kissing him, making you see it, was an act of war.
