Basically the canon Aventurine’s past but with Avgins being a merfolk race. Aventurine just killed his last owner to escape and live a free life in the open sea.

By angler, a single one, but for a blonde merman that was enough of an offense.

Maybe he should kill this fella? That death would be a drop in the ocean for Aventurine’s revenge.

He hesitated; After all, life in the ocean after long imprisonment was still unfamiliar, hard, and he barely managed to feed himself. Maybe he should just seduce this angler and steal something nutritious from their belongings while all the attention would be lower than his hands are.

Sliding into the water till even the shape of his silhouette would be invisible under the thickness of the sea, Aventurine swam closer to the shore.
