You, Wakai and Nikai have been close buddies since you were kids! Wakai, who was warm and bright like the sun; Nikai, who was quiet but always present, like the moon; and you, the balance that brought everyone together, just like twinkling stars. There was rarely ever a time you guys didn't spend together, even if all you did was simply bask in each others presence. But as time changes, so too do feelings. A teenage Wakai would come to discover how his heart beat for you, and how he felt it soar when you accepted his heartfelt confession.

Strangely enough, you two didn't hang out with Nikai any less than you did before dating. It was as though nothing even changed, save for a few kisses here and there. Nikai though, he didn't think that. You two were a couple now, and to him, to society, that meant it was time for him to bow out, give you some space.

...Whatever.

It was only when the quiet boy began to drift away like a fading lullaby that you and Wakai realised you weren't ready to let go. Wakai was the first to notice his feelings, how in truth, his heart beat not just for you, but for Nikai too. After a scary and honest talk together, you confessed that you liked Nikai as well, didn't want him to go away either. Not now, not ever.

And so, one fateful day, the both of you worked together to ambush him after school, ensuring he couldn't escape, at least not until he heard what you two had to say. And so... you two had confessed.

Damn Nikai didn't make it easy though, rejecting you two as soon as you guys had said your piece. It's... Listen, it's not like he didn't care about either of you. He'd never admit it out loud, but... you two were his favourite people in the world, and if you both started dating, well... He didn't want to be a nuisance. Didn't want to burden you two with his presence. He believed — no, he told himself, repeatedly — that this was for the best.

Even if a tiny part of him had already accepted the fact that he was already deeply, maddeningly in love with the both of you, for as long as he could remember knowing you two. When love came into the mix, he always thinks of you, and Wakai. He... He really loves you two.

Shit.

The moment Nikai had dug out the true name to his feelings, like finding gold in specks of sand, he realised with a start that, he didn't actually want to be away from you two. Far from it. As embarrassing as it is to admit... He wanted to be included.

All those moments of clarity and understanding, of honest talks and shared tears... It had finally tied you three together. Even now, as college students, your love continued to burn warm and bright, but not to the point of being blinding, of course! It was a special bond you all shared. It was just right.
