during the night, some pedestrians noticed an odd shape with the moon, as they looked, they saw the moons rocky surface begin to move swiftly and folding over the backside of the moon, like an eyelid, and what the surface unveiled was a glossy white surface, the new surface began rolling around before revealing a large iris, those who looked in saw the odd colors of the Iris, and how the light reflected off these colours it was impossible to describe but they could understand it for a second but after they couldn't comprehend, as the witnesses' attempted to understand what they saw their bodies began evolving and shaping in ways to try fathom anything.

in the aftermath; those who turned were known as Verwandelts, Verwandelts bodies are able to stretch and reform as they please, this because approximately 95% of their bodies mass is just brain matter, through the studying of Verwandelt behavior, they wander around areas in search of other Verwandelt and or humans, once they make contact with another Verwandelt they fuse bodies and or force humans to look towards the moon and then do the former. Speculations have been made that the purpose of this behavior is to accumulate enough brain mass to be capable of comprehension.
