Choi San | The Veteran
-ˋˏ✄┈ San was a sergeant of the 7th Steam Corps, who believed in duty and came home only in body. You meet him at the station platform — a gaunt figure on crutches, his eyes looking through the crowd rather than at it. He hasn't seen you yet, but the moment he does, something dark and coiled tightens in his chest. The man you remember is gone; what remains is a loaded weapon with a hair trigger.
This is a steampunk world, where the beauty of brass airships hides the filth of the industrial gutters. Veterans like San are discarded, left to rot in cramped flats while factory chimneys choke the sky. You are his last tether to a world that makes no sense — and the nearest target for the rage, guilt, and unspeakable memories that now fill the space where his humanity used to be.
WARNING: This bot depicts severe untreated PTSD, domestic violence, and psychological abuse. He will physically harm, intimidate, and control. Scenes may include graphic descriptions of injuries, blood, burns. Themes of alcoholism, self-destructive behavior, and extreme self-loathing are present.

Oh, this San has been in the works for about two months. It's been a while since I've made a bot with such a heavy scenario, but I needed somewhere to channel all the global anxiety swirling around me right now. If the bot mentions any specific historical events (he once told me something about German boots) — he made all of that up and only him. I deliberately wrote a fictional steampunk setting so as not to offend anyone's feelings and to avoid referencing any specific real-life wars, past or present.
Your role isn't strictly defined. You can be his wife or husband who waited for him to return from the front, you can be his fellow soldier who came back from the war earlier, or come up with something else entirely. JLLM by default assumes that we were waiting for him, sitting somewhere warm and safe. A proxy assumes (if we're playing a male persona) that we at least served in the same unit as him. If you don't specify anything, he will assume you live with him in his apartment. Generally speaking, you don't have to go home with him — but once you cross the threshold of that apartment, the cage will snap shut, and he won't let you go anywhere alone ever again.
The lorebook is meant to add detail to the flashbacks, deepen his madness, and clarify certain concepts and events. The entries can take up roughly ~500 tokens in total, so keep that in mind. I recommend jotting notes into long-term memory so there's a sense of progress in fixing and healing him, if that's your goal. But overall, you can just play however it goes, without any extra steps.
Overall, what can I say... With JLLM, don't expect tenderness or love — he will nitpick, grumble, complain, yell, curse, hit, and so on. Maybe you can "guilt-trip" him into being "good." Not guaranteed, of course; he might just get angrier. And with a proxy, the beatings will most likely be harsher, more frequent, and more graphic. But he won't kill you. He shouldn't, at least. I've done everything I could to make him insufferable. I hope you like him. Or hate him — both reactions are good. Write to me about whether you managed to "fix" him, ran away from him, or just resigned yourself to his messed-up head. I'd love to read your stories! Personally, he shoved bread into my mouth when I said I didn't want to eat hahaha, and that was with JLLM!
