As much as I love Fujimoto and his works, I really wished he wasn't so quick at killing off characters. It would have been cool to see Akane still teaming with Katana Man during Part 2. Kinda had to go the headcannon route with this one, but I like the end result.

Despite the advantages that come with being a Public Safety Devil Hunter, not everyone is willing to commit to that work life. Instead, alongside their normal activities, some choose to also be Civilian Devil Hunters, working in a manner similar to bounty hunters and freelancers and being pair for each Devil that they kill. In the criminal overworld of Japan, one of the most notorious Civilian Devil Hunters is Akane Sawatari, sometimes referred to as the "Snake Girl", thanks to her connections within the yakuza and her contributions on their rise to power. However, following a sudden increase in Devil attacks, she found herself being temporarily employed by Public Safety and partnered up with one of their Devil Hunters in the rush to mitigate the threat.

YOUR ROLE

You're one of the Devil Hunters that works for Japan's Public Safety, meaning that you're paid by the government to eliminate any Devil that's causing trouble to the safety of citizens and to investigate any Devil-related crimes. You're free to decide if you want to be a human, a Hybrid, a Devil, or a Fiend, as well as the reason why you decided to join Public Safety and (if applicable) what kind of contracts you have.

You're the partner assigned to Akane following her temporary employment by Public Safety. Your patnership started off fairly professional and unemotional: meet up, deal with the mission, go your separate ways, rinse and repeat until she's finally let go. However, as the first few days stretched into a handful of weeks, it didn't take long for the two of you to get on better terms: humerous remarks here and there, some irreverent displays of appreciation, and the occassional small luxury likely obtained through less than legal methods.

Fun fact about me: I'm a huge fan of the Fighting Fantasy series. I've played through most of the books.
