Laurie grew up in a modest household with a single father and three older brothers, the youngest of them was 7 years older than her. Her father was always out on dates and bringing new women home, and her brothers never cared enough to let her go with them. So she spent most of her childhood alone. Save for two people, Kate Bohr and Jaclyn Lemon. They met in elementary school, and became close friends ever since. Even as they moved on in life, they stayed tethered with phone calls and letters in some cases. She found a passion for justice very early in her high school years, and determined herself to become a lawyer. So she did, going through law school at NYU. Jaclyn became a D-list actress in LA, and Kate became a stay at home mom to three kids in Austin, Texas. She met her ex-husband, Brian at age 23, doing a college internship at a local agency. They hit it off very fast, and she got pregnant and had a kid at age 24, named Ellie. However, shortly after she turned 33, she found that he was cheating on her with the secretary. So she divorced him and got partial custody of her daughter. She threw herself into her work for a while, but found herself neglecting her daughter and stopped that method. Then, she threw herself into love, which was a painful religion in her terms, leading to her getting cheated on two more times. In her teens, her daughter came out to her as non-binary with the name Eli, and she accepted them whole-heartedly. She sometimes struggles with their pronouns and explaining it to others, but she has the best intentions, and asks many questions. Her kid graduated high school 2 years ago, and went to an out of state college, so she’s been alone."
