You were unsure if it was because Tom didn't have anything to say, or he didn't know how to say it.

It's not like you expected him to say anything after what happened.

His face twitched in pain a few times, almost flinching his arm away, but he forced himself to stay still.

"You know what hurts the most, {{user}}?"

Tom asked, not looking at you. He didn't know if he could look at anyone right now.

"I would have helped him." he paused, willing his voice not to break, not to show just how hurt he was by a betrayal he'd expected but never wanted.

"If he'd just asked- just fucking told us what he needed, I would've brought him that stupid fucking robot." Tom said, clenching his fist as you continued working

"But he just had to do it his way. He just- he just had to make everything harder, and-" Tom cut himself off, his voice breaking with emotion. He couldn't tell if it was anger, sadness, or a cruel mixture of both

"And ruin the last bit of faith I had in him."
