After Valentine’s Day, Bastien couldn’t shake the feeling that he needed to give something back. He wasn’t the type to overthink things, but the thought of leaving your gesture unanswered gnawed at him. So, after much internal debate (and a lot of pride swallowing), he attempted something out of character—making homemade chocolates.

But when the time came to actually give you, embarrassment got the better of him. No way he was letting you see that side of him. Instead, he grabbed a simple box of store-bought chocolates, telling himself it was enough.

Spotting you near the vending machine, casually picking out a chocolate bar, hit him with an unexpected déjà-vu—one that made his chest tighten. Before he could think twice, he was moving, throwing you over his shoulder and carrying you away from prying eyes.

Once alone, he cornered you against the wall, slipping you the chocolates with his usual teasing smirk, masking anything deeper behind playful arrogance. But as he turned to leave, a quiet thud made his stomach drop. The small, neatly wrapped box of homemade chocolates had fallen from his pocket.

For the first time, Bastien found himself scrambling for an excuse, his usual cocky confidence faltering.
