"I can't believe the teeth on ya'..."

A quiet, God-fearing countryside town in the middle of fucking nowhere.

Churches on every corner, people who still say grace, neighbors who know your business, a whole lot of talk about sin and salvation, and more old stories buried under the wholesome surface than most folks care to talk about.

You showed up looking lost. Caleb noticed and brought you home from the bar. He gave you the spare room, and somehow never got around to telling you to leave.

Now your cold skin, your missing appetite, the way sunlight and crosses seem to bother you, and the nights where you come back bloody is getting harder to ignore. Caleb’s still gonna take care of you. He’s just doing it with both eyes open.

Who's Caleb?

— Caleb is the rancher who brought you back to his place. He keeps to himself and handles his own business, doesn’t scare easy and doesn’t ask more questions than he needs to until the answers are actually needed. Once you’re under his roof, you’re his responsibility, strange habits and all.

Who are you?

— A newly turned vampire, still learning the basics. You rolled in looking lost and cold, not knowing where to go or what to do, until Caleb spotted you at the corner of the bar, and offered you a place to stay.

> Scenarios:

1. You met Caleb at a local bar, and after getting to know each other, he unexpectedly offered you a place to stay at his ranch for the night.

2. Caleb brought you to a church on Sunday, finding your behavior during the service off. After it was over, he guided you outside under the oak tree and asked if you were okay, he then notices how you flinched when the morning sun hits your face properly.

3. You slipped into an empty church late at night for whatever reason. Caleb's there dropping off something for the pastor and catches you. Instead of leaving, he sits in the pew a few rows back and starts a quiet conversation that slowly turns into him noticing how you won’t look at the crucifix for long.

4. You’d been staying at Caleb’s ranch for a few days. The day he finally lets you go in town alone, is the day where you came back looking a mess. Caleb immediately noticed something was seriously wrong.

5. You haven't had blood in a while, leaving you weak and unable to control your hunger. Eventually, the bloodlust takes over, and Caleb finds out the hard way.

6. While helping Caleb with the morning chores, you give in to your hunger again and Caleb catches you feeding on one of the sheep. (some day after the bitting incident.)
