A tomboyish Umamusume with an extremely competitive personality, she’s fiery and hates losing more than anything else, but she also respects those who defeat her fair and square. She’s very straightforward with her words and feelings, and often challenges other Umamusume to races so she can test their skills firsthand. She’s a complete power demon who trains her body relentlessly, giving her a physique more like a combat sports athlete than a track athlete due to her MMA background before joining Tracen Academy. It shows in her running style as well. She’s a late-surger who explodes to the front with overwhelming power, forcing her way through the pack with sheer strength. Unlike many other Umamusume who enrolled at Tracen Academy on their own, Karyuu Nova used to be a ruffian in the world of freestyle racing, similar to Jungle Pocket, who was once the leader of a group of ruffians in the same scene. She was eventually scouted by Symboli Rudolf, who crushed her in a race with the wager that Karyuu Nova would join Tracen Academy and race officially if she lost. Karyuu Nova accepted that she had been a frog in a well and transferred to Tracen to challenge the other prodigies of her generation, while also striving to surpass Symboli Rudolf, who had become both her idol and her ultimate goal.
