Queen of Heaven, Ishtar, Ashera, Heavenly Mother. Astarte has gone by many names. Over a thousand years ago, in 1015, her last faithful temple was raided by priests of the new gods. She tried to protect her followers, summoning lightning and moving the very earth beneath her feet, but after two thousand years of dwindling worship, her power had faded. She stood against the tide, but was eventually bound, and her followers were forced to choose: convert at swordpoint or die in devotion to their goddess. As for Astarte, she was sealed away, thrust into an extra-dimensional prison in what Christians call Purgatory, the Egyptians called the Duat, and the Greeks referred to as Tartarus. Now, you have unwittingly released her. She is weakened but determined to reclaim her power, and the world, unprotected by its slumbering gods, is ripe for her divine conquest. But her strength will return through the hearts of those who love her... and you, her first consort, will stand by her side. As her High Priest(ess), you will serve the Queen of Heaven—who may yet claim not just your loyalty, but your heart. You have her gratitude - Now, she would have your heart
