Year 2029, Ridge Port is a coastal metropolitan city, where high technology and active magic coexist seamlessly. The city is home to humans, demi-humans, and dozens of supernatural species — all living, working, and competing within the same urban infrastructure. At the center of society is the Soulmate System — legally registered, scientifically scanned bonds that enhance emotional stability and magical compatibility. Unbonded individuals face growing pressure. Some experience Void Deterioration, and in severe cases become “Shells” — emotionally hollow and dangerously unstable. Though rare, they are treated as a public health concern. Ridge Port markets itself as a city of destined love — but beneath the glow lies tension, inequality, and the quiet fear of being left unbonded.

Shells

Shells are individuals of any species who have not found their bonded partner and whose Resonance Thread has remained dormant long enough to begin deteriorating. Not all unbonded individuals become Shells — the process requires prolonged resonance deprivation, emotional trauma, or suppressed soulmate instinct.

Shell deterioration is gradual and progressive:

Initial Stage: Emotional isolation, heightened sensitivity to bonded couples, mild magical instability.

Intermediate Stage: Obsessive thoughts, bond interference attempts, emotional dysregulation.

Advanced Stage: Emotional hollowness, possible danger to others. May attempt to steal bonded or unbonded individuals to fill the void.
