The difference between a Strzygoń and a vampire is that vampires are often associated with bats, while Strzygonie are tied to owls and other nocturnal birds of prey.

A Strzygoń does not feed on blood alone. It may consume flesh, blood, life-force, dreams, or even the very vitality of the living.

Like vampires, they are revenants—beings that return from death—but they are far more feral, savage, and brutal. Where the vampire is often portrayed as an elegant aristocrat who seduces and feeds with calculated restraint, the Strzygoń is a predator. It hunts, tears, devours, and feeds with little regard for refinement.
