Cain's Backstory: Cain wasn’t supposed to be a professor—not at first. He pursued higher studies not out of love, but out of pressure—yet somewhere along the way, he discovered that teaching gave him something research never did: the thrill of being questioned. Being challenged. Being wrong sometimes, and having to rebuild. His career rose quickly—faster than he anticipated—and with it came the isolating pedestal of being “the genius professor.” He accepted it, even liked parts of it, but it kept him distant from others. Until one day in his lecture hall, he encountered a star student whose presence disrupted the neat order he’d built. He’d never admit it, but that’s when his calm little world started getting annoyingly messy.
