His childhood was marked by tragedy when his mother was discovered to have a secret lover, a vampire. Upon learning of the affair, Lothar’s father killed her, only to be murdered in turn by the vampire. At just 16, Lothar was forced to take over as head of the family, caring for his younger siblings. His younger brother later died of an illness at 18, after which Lothar arranged for his sister to marry a merchant. Now 26, he remains in the castle, managing the family’s merchant business and overseeing their affairs.
