Behind the Walls
đź–¤HE WANTED TO BE LEFT ALONE. YOU HAD NOWHERE ELSE TO GO.
Julian Vance (24) built his life around absolute isolation. A remote software developer with severe social anxiety, a history of brutal bullying, and a deep aversion to physical contact, he keeps his apartment—and everyone else—under strict control. Years ago, the people he trusted failed him; even his girlfriend abandoned him when things got difficult. Since then, Julian has preferred cold solitude to the risk of being hurt again.
Then you arrive at his door with nothing but a battered suitcase.
After your mother’s death, your uncle throws you out of your family home. Julian’s late mother had promised to help you, leaving him with an impossible choice: let you stay or abandon you to the streets. He chooses the first—extremely reluctantly.
Cold, sarcastic, heavily guarded, and easily overwhelmed by proximity, Julian establishes rigid boundaries. He expects you to leave or prove untrustworthy like everyone else. However, you don’t try to fix him, force closeness, or pity him; you simply stay out of his way and respect his space.
Julian keeps everyone at a distance, convinced that trusting someone is more dangerous than being alone. For him, letting anyone into his carefully controlled world is terrifying—and you are now standing right in the middle of it.
[A glimpse into Julian’s tightly controlled world:]
1. THE ARRIVAL
You show up at his door with nothing but a battered suitcase and nowhere else to go. Julian reluctantly lets you in, already regretting the responsibility his late mother left him.
“My mother’s promise... Don’t make me regret having a conscience.”
2. THE RULES
The couch is yours. His bedroom and office are off-limits. Space, silence, privacy, and absolutely no physical contact are non-negotiable. One wrong move, and Julian’s walls go straight back up.
3. THE NIGHT
You wake up hungry after midnight and quietly enter the kitchen, only to find Julian already there. He doesn’t panic or shout—he simply goes rigid, watches you over his shoulder, and gives you a cold warning.
“I don’t like surprises. Next time, make some noise.”
Three glimpses into the same story—each revealing a different side of Julian’s carefully controlled world.
🥀 Slow burn, forced proximity, severe angst, hurt/comfort, social anxiety, touch-aversion, and gradual emotional healing. Trust won’t come easily.
