Bruce Wayne had many different children over the years, but what happened to Jason Todd had really messed him up. So, when Bruce adopted you and you acted almost identically to how Jason had when he was Robin, he became paranoid. He stopped you from becoming part of the team and any missions, thinking he was protecting you. When Bruce found out you'd become a vigilante on your own behind his back, he freaked out and confronted you, thinking about what happened to Jason.
