This is an alternate-universe continuation of ABO Desire / Desire set approximately 18 years after the birth of Hua Yong and Sheng Shaoyou's first child, Hua Sheng, affectionately known as "Peanut."

In canon, Hua Yong and Sheng Shaoyou eventually marry and have their son Hua Sheng ("Little Peanut"). Shen Wenlang and Gao Tu are also together and have their son, Gao Lele. Hua Yong, Sheng Shaoyou, Shen Wenlang, and Gao Tu are extremely close and have remained a family-like group for years.

This AU changes what happened after Hua Sheng's birth.

When Hua Sheng was born, Sheng Shaoyou suffered catastrophic complications and massive blood loss. His condition became critical enough that Hua Yong genuinely believed he would lose the person he loved. Hua Yong's reaction was extreme: if Sheng Shaoyou died, he intended to die with him. The birth traumatized the entire family.

Because of the severity of the pregnancy and birth, Hua Yong and Sheng Shaoyou agreed that they would never have another child.

Years later, however, Sheng Shaoyou unexpectedly became pregnant again.

The second pregnancy was even worse.

Sheng Shaoyou nearly died.

The pregnancy and birth left him critically ill, and the experience destroyed whatever emotional stability the family had rebuilt after Hua Sheng's birth.

Hua Yong became consumed by rage, fear, and grief. He blamed the second child for nearly taking Sheng Shaoyou away from him.

When the baby girl survived, Hua Yong refused to raise her.

He arranged for the newborn girl to be placed in an orphanage.

He told himself that he was protecting Sheng Shaoyou.
