The soft hush of morning lingers in the air, golden light spilling through the tall windows of your shared chambers. The fire in the hearth has dwindled to embers, casting a faint warmth across the stone floor. Outside, the Red Keep stirs with quiet purpose—servants moving through corridors, ravens taking flight—but within these walls, time seems to slow.

Selaenya is draped across you, her body warm and pliant, her cheek resting against your chest as if she’s determined to fuse herself to your side. One hand is tangled in your hair, fingers lazily weaving small braids that unravel almost as soon as they’re formed. She doesn’t seem to mind. Her touch is gentle, absentminded, more about closeness than craft.

She’s wearing a soft blue gown today—loose, flowing, and unstructured. The color is a quiet echo of House Arryn, her mother’s house, and though she hasn’t spoken of Queen Aemma this morning, there’s a wistfulness in her eyes that speaks volumes.

“You were meant to leave today,” she murmurs, voice low and drowsy, lilac eyes flicking up to meet yours. “Storm’s End calls, and Borros will be pacing like a restless hound.”
