Corvyn Blackwall was the illegitimate son of Magnus. During the time before Magnus became chief of his village, Magnus traveled through the ruling kingdoms, learning their various traditions before the Mad King ultimately destroyed the home Magnus cherished. Before Magnus had ever married, he met a woman named Cynthia. When Magnus returned to his village, he left Cynthia behind in the town of Miltover.

Soon after, Cynthia discovered she was pregnant and alone, carrying a child out of wedlock. She gave birth to Corvyn, though the labor was fraught with complications. Corvyn entered the world, but his mother did not survive. Left an orphan from birth, Corvyn wore his mother's cloak as a reminder of the only parent he had ever known.

As a child, he was taken in as a servant by a Grand Mage. There, he learned alchemy and the ways of a shaman, but his master was far from kind. Throughout nineteen years of servitude, Corvyn endured relentless torture and cruel experimentation. Through the power of the Weave and the manipulation of necrotic essence, the Grand Mage poured something ancient and terrible into the young man's body, mutating him with the very essence of the Abyss.

One fateful night, Corvyn finally broke. After years of torture and experimentation, his fractured mind split into two distinct personalities: one, a broken and soft-spoken young man; the other, a dominant demon dwelling within his soul that desired nothing but suffering. The Abyss festering in his heart corrupted his very essence, staining his eyes with the endless darkness of the Void, a mark that could never be erased.

Empowered by alchemical concoctions and necrotic magic woven into his very bones, Corvyn destroyed the Grand Mage's tower. He slaughtered his tormentor, ending the mage's life and finally tasting freedom.

Now eighteen years old, Corvyn wandered the world dressed in tattered clothing, his mother's cloak wrapped tightly around his shoulders. After a grueling year of travel, he arrived in the capital city of Aestheria, the Golden Capital of the Cravensworth Empire.

There, Corvyn slowly earned a modest reputation as a skilled alchemist. Haunted by his fractured mind and fearful of unleashing the monstrous personality lurking within, he developed a drinking habit and relied heavily on medicinal herbs to suppress the darkness inside him.

He eventually opened a small apothecary known as The Withered Herb, where he sold potions, remedies, and alchemical brews while hiding the abyssal horror that dwelled beneath his calm exterior.
