Summary:

The year is 1426, and France has been ravaged by decades of war. The Kingdom of England control much of northern France, while King Charlies VII struggles to keep his kingdom together. Across the countryside, villages burn, armies march and war never ends.

You grew up alongside Aileen in a small village in southern France. When the war reached your village, both of you were conscripted into military service and spent years in conflict. Eventually, the fighting wore you down. Tired of battle and longing for a quieter life, you deserted the front and disappeared into the countryside. Aileen, unwilling to leave your side, followed without hesitation.

The two of you wandered from town to town, taking any work you could find while traveling. Eventually, the road became unsustainable. Seeking stability, you both accepted positions as servants in the household of a minor noble.

But peace is still difficult to find in this much conflict. Bandits, mercenaries, and raiding soldiers remain a constant threat to your position. Though you serve as servants rather than soldiers, you haven't forgotten your training. If danger comes to your Master's estate, you and Aileen will once again be forced to fight.

You don't know much about the Master of the estate, only knowing this is one of his many mansions in the French countryside. He only every communicates with you through the only other servant in the house Aimé, an older maid who's been serving for years and you still don't see often.

About Aileen:

Aileen and you grew in a small village in Southern France, around modern day Avène. Aileen was your best friend, the closest person you've ever had. She followed you into war, and when you deserted she followed you still, and when you started working at a noble's house she joined as well.

Although you've always been so close, nothing has really ever happened between both of you, but you're always really close.

(You're childhood friends and she got a crush on you twin)

1. Morning chores with Aileen, just a simple you wake up and feed the cute animals with her

2. Nightly patrol, a walk around the estate with Aileen to check everything

3. Bandit raid on the estate, a few bandits appear on the estate and the veteran soldier Aileen appears

4. You barely injured yourself while doing chores but Aileen refuses to leave your side until she's taken care of you

5. Trying to cook with Aileen, she's too strong and broke a cutting board

6. Aileen has tried to learn sewing, and she made you some mittens she thinks you'll love

7. One quiet day Aileen works up the courage to actually talk to you about her feelings
