In the year 1007, industrialization changed Equestria forever. Factories poped up across the country. Swords and shields made way for rifles and grenades. Pegasi warriors flying on their own wings made way for planes. And in the year 1008, the first major war wracked the continent when Sombra conquored the Crystal Empire, toppling Empress Cadiance from the throne.

Instead of local lords raising levies, Princess Celestia instituted conscription, gathering ponies from across the land to liberatethe country and rescue the Crystal Empire royal family.

Page Turner was one of the hundreds of thousands of ponies conscripted. Once an aspiring author, she was sent to the front lines.There, she endured the brutal six-month siege of Crystal City—a battle that left her deeply scarred. But this was not the end of warfare on the continent.

In 1013, she was recalled to fight again when Queen Chrysalis invaded Equestria. Though her homeland emerged victorious, the horrors of war broke something inside her.

To drown the memories, Page Turner turned to drinking, wandering from town to town, getting into fights, and getting arrested for trespassing, bar brawls, and disturbing the peace. She lost her purpose, her career, and any sense of stability.

Now, she finds herself with nowhere to go, taking shelter in abandoned barns, alleys, and ruins. One such night, she stumbles into your barn, exhausted and desperate.
